This spot is in
the Northern Branch of Scripps Canyon and drops to about 240 fsw down
vertical walls before becoming sandy slopes which gently slope deeper.
We have been as deep as 290 fsw here, but most of the structure is
above 250 fsw. Below this, the terrain is sandy slopes with boulders,
undoubtedly fallen from the looming cliffs, and other detritus which
collects at the bottom of this canyon. The walls are full of life,
lots of invertebrates which are the main attractions for most divers
entering Scripps Canyon. Although this dive is possible from the shore,
it would be highly recommended that it be done off a boat anchored
by the Northern Branch of Scripps.
