There is a great deal of information regarding the HMCS Yukon and its sinking as an artificial reef on the internet; A cursory search on Google, or other search engine, will surely turn up even more information. However, there is good information on the Yukon on the DiveBums webpage as well as on the California Wreckdivers site, which includes many photographs of the Yukon before/after the sinking and as an artificial reef.

The wreck is covered, on the topside, with Strawberry Anemones and many Metridiums and is home to several varieties of fish and invertebrates. Below the water line of the ship there is little growth, presumably due to anti-fouling paint, until you reach the sand where there are some Metridiums which have begun to grow. There is usually surge in this area and this can be felt on the top of the wreck as well as inside it. Visibility varys with the average being between 10-20 feet, with it being typically much better by the sand. The video on the right is from August 2005.
